Briana has heard his voice for years in dreams. Calling to her. She hears that same voice in the handsome stranger she meets on vacation. Captivating and so familiar. When he unexpectedly transforms into a werewolf, Briana flees in horror. She knows him … he is the wolfman who haunts her dreams. More than anything else, it is her lustful response to the beast that terrifies her.
When Raynor finally meets his mate, he is confused by her reaction and even more so by her response when he shifts. She doesn't recognize him. In an attempt to escape, Briana jumps through the time portal of his people, landing her in Medieval England. Raynor must rescue her, which requires bonding with Briana as her mate. But first he must teach Briana that she is a shifter, then convince her not to be repelled by her other self, an ancient, powerful shifter. A snakewoman.

Excerpt
“Oh,” she groaned aloud. There he was again, the dark mysterious figure that haunted her more nights than she cared to count. This time, they stood facing each other in the middle of a night-black forest; she was already frightened, her breathing frenzied and her heart pounding. She felt like she was caught in the middle of a Twilight Zone episode—death approached, but it was as if she were stuck in quagmire and couldn’t move.
He edged closer, stepped into the moonlit glade between her and the protective foliage that had covered his form. A werewolf! Briana was shocked. Even though she was a strong person, she was too scared to move an inch. She’d expected a menacing stranger, not a fictional monster. He looked real enough, his body bulky with muscles, and she even noticed a musky odor.
Abruptly, the creature jumped in one great predatory leap, landing directly in front of her. His weight crashed a small branch into kindling as he landed. Strangely, she wasn’t frightened, not now. Why? She didn’t know. Her heart thudded heavily against her chest, her breathing came out in short pants, but from another source entirely—she was turned on. Briana found this startling. The appearance of a savage, beast-like wolfman made her hot? It was insane, this sudden switch from terror to lust.
For years, she had been involved in strange encounters with this mystery man, who tonight, had turned out to be a nightmarish creature. But this was turning into the weirdest experience she’d ever had. Once he had made his appearance in wolf/human form, she no longer feared his presence. It was as if there was a connection between them, a hidden knowledge she found puzzling.
“Who are you?”
His answer was a guttural growl, then a pounce onto her body. She fell to the ground, landing uninjured on a soft pile of leaves. For some crazy reason, she knew he did not intend to hurt her. The beast’s body was heavy, his long hair tickling against her exposed skin. She glanced down at her naked body, again surprised; she’d been wearing her nightgown earlier.
Drool dripped onto her chin and she looked up into its beautiful, but eerie golden eyes, strangely unaffected by the savage grin of its fanged mouth. She still wasn’t frightened.

Author Katya Armock

I want to welcome Katya Armock today.
Katya is here to talk about her new book To Hiss or to Kiss

Blurb:
Chloe can “talk” to animals…so why can she hear the thoughts of this hot, green-eyed man?

Abandoned by her mother and raised by a father who’d given up on life, Chloe doesn't let anyone get close. Lucky for her, she can communicate with animals—telepathically. Animals are the only people she needs. When a suspected dog-fighting ring comes to her attention, Chloe decides to do a little spying. In her rush to win the dogs’ trust, she almost gets caught.

Until a sexy stranger intervenes, and she finds she can overhear his thoughts. She’s never been able to hear people, and this man’s about as sexy as she’s ever seen. It’s more than intellectual curiosity that drives her to discover his secret: he’s a jaguar shape-shifter, and the presence of this cat among the dogs might be a bit too much to handle. But the animal attraction is just too hot to resist, and the passion between them makes both the sparks—and the fur—fly…

Here is also an Interview with Chloe and Katya

Katya: I know how much you hate beating around the bush, so I’m just going to dive right in. What makes you unique?
Chloe: [gives me an are-you-stupid look] That’s obvious. I can telepathically communicate with animals.
Katya: OK, I’ll give you that, but what else makes you unique?
Chloe:  I like ice cream.
Katya: You’re not really trying, are you?
Chloe: How can you tell? [rolls her eyes] Look, I just don’t like talking about myself. Can’t we just talk about my cats or something?
Katya: How about something close to that? You spend a lot of time volunteering at an animal shelter. Given your ability, it makes sense, but it must be difficult to deal with all the homeless animals.
Chloe: It is, but I figure I was given this gift for a reason and I need to do what I can to help animals. They don’t have a voice for most people. Plus, animals are way better than people. If I wanted to be harshly judged, I’d tell more people about my ability—or wear a bikini or something.
[We both laugh.]
Katya:  I figure you’ll have a unique take on this one, considering your ability to converse with animals. What animal would you be?
Chloe: A cat. I’ve always been a cat person. [smiles wickedly] Jorge certainly hasn’t changed that. Do you know how hot it is to have man purr against your naked body whether you’re cuddling or fuc…? [blushes]
Katya: I can imagine. Speaking of Jorge, what’s it like to be able to telepathically communicate with a person?
Chloe: At first it freaked me out. I didn’t even know shape-shifters existed, so I thought I could just suddenly hear a random human in my head. It didn’t help that just looking at him sent my libido into overdrive. [blushes again and mutters under her breath] Goddamn, capillaries.
Katya: [tries not to show amusement] Moving on… What is your most prized possession?
Chloe: Is it bad if I call Jorge my possession? It’s not like I’m objectifying him or anything, but he’s the best thing in my life.

Excerpt:
“I’m not going to hurt you.” His whisper tickles my ear, his breath warm against my neck.
The voice sounds familiar, but I can’t place it. I shiver.
“But you aren’t safe here. There are cameras around the house.”
My mind whirls, trying to figure out what to do. My body is still frozen with panic.
His hold on me tightens. “I am going to back us out of here, and then we can talk.” He starts to pull me farther into the shadows behind the barn, and something clicks in my brain. I go limp to make it harder for him to carry me. The man doesn’t even lose a beat taking on more weight. He chuckles softly.
That just makes me mad and I start thrashing my newly unencumbered legs, trying my best to get his shin or twist my foot up higher to his groin, but he quickly grabs my legs with one arm, negating my struggle. He’s now got me almost sideways across his body to keep one hand over my mouth and the other clamped around my thighs like a vise, but I keep writhing—or at least trying to writhe. I kick back from my knees, but my heels just connect with air. Too bad I’m not insanely flexible. To my still panicking mind, it just seems silly to stop at this point, though.
“I’m trying to help you. If you insist on this thrashing I will be forced to immobilize you further so the noise doesn’t alert anyone.”
I wonder how he would do that and imagine this man’s bulk holding me down on the ground. It’s not a wholly unwelcome thought, which is all kinds of fucked up. My hormones seriously need a good talking to. I redouble my writhing, part of me wanting to know if and how he’ll carry out his threat. The rational part of me rolls her eyes.
I wiggle my upper leg free enough that I get a pretty good whap against the outside of his hip, and I hear a soft whumpf of pain from him.
“That’s it.” He drops me to the ground on my back and then repositions himself over me, recovering my mouth with one hand while trapping my legs with his before I can even think about screaming.
When I recover from the shock, I’m in for a new one. My eyes widen as I make contact with emerald green eyes that are startlingly familiar.

Author Bio:
I like books that are funny and fun to read (and hot!) but also make me think or look at the world in a new way. I am influenced by magic realism, comparative mythology, and esoteric spiritual practices from around the world.
I spent too many years chasing someone else’s definition of success. My life simplified, I returned to my first love of writing.
These days you’ll find me writing, pet sitting, juggling a number of freelance gigs, and reigning as my home’s domestic goddess. I live in the Midwestern U.S. with my husband, dog and cats. Alas, I have, as of yet, been unable to teach my husband how to purr.
